The past month has been exciting in the snap world, between getting ready to welcome our Google Code-in students, improving the developer dashboard and starting to land, piece by piece, the new store frontend, it’s time we take a small break to appreciate some new releases.

Featuring IDEs for Go and PHP, production grade film and animation software, fast-paced games, blockchain management and tracking utilities, here is our monthly curated list of snaps:

1. Cryptowatch

Marcin Mikołajczak

Monitor cryptocurrency prices and account balances for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. Using either the terminal or a Raspberry Pi LCD.

2. WolfenDoom: Blade of Agony

WolfenDoom: Blade of Agony Blade of Agony is a story-driven FPS. The project is inspired by WWII shooters from the 90’s and early 2000’s, like Wolfenstein 3D, Medal of Honor, and Call of Duty, but with faster-paced gameplay in the spirit of Doom!

3. PhpStorm

PhpStorm is a PHP IDE that actually “gets” your code. It supports PHP 5.3- 7.2, provides on-the-fly error prevention, powerful auto-completion & code refactoring, zero configuration debugging, and an extended HTML, CSS, and JavaScript editor.

4. WebStorm

JetBrains

WebStorm is a powerful commercial IDE for modern JavaScript development. Whether you are using JavaScript or TypeScript, Angular, React or Vue.js, WebStorm provides you with the best code completion, navigation, refactoring tools and on-the-fly code analysis. You can run, debug and test your web, Node.js, React Native and Electron apps right in the IDE. Tools such as linters, task runner and version control are seamlessly integrated and available out of the box.

5. GoLand

JetBrains

GoLand is a commercial IDE by JetBrains aimed at providing an ergonomic environment for Go development. GoLand extends the IntelliJ platform with the coding assistance and tool integrations specific for the Go language.

6. M.A.R.S. – a ridiculous shooter

M.A.R.S. – a ridiculous shooter is a 2D space shooter with awesome visual effects and attractive physics. Players can battle each other or computer controlled enemies in exciting game modes. The Story: In year 3547, civilizations all over the galaxy have settled their own planets, living in peace and harmony with its environment. But outside the contemplative habitats, the GREAT WAR is raging. As a famous fighter on your way to never ending honour and prosperity, you have to protect your planet from the oncoming doom of your jealous neighbours!

7. Auryo

Listen to SoundCloud from the comfort of your desktop and use keyboard shortcuts to navigate through your music within a beautiful user interface.

8. DataGrip

JetBrains

DataGrip is a multi-engine database environment. Supporting MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, Oracle, Amazon Redshift, Sybase, DB2, SQLite, HyperSQL, Apache Derby and H2. If a DBMS has a JDBC driver you can connect to it via DataGrip. For any of the supported engines it provides database introspection and various instruments for creating and modifying objects.

9. Vessel

Vessel is a simple wallet for managing your Steem accounts. Steem is a blockchain-based rewards platform for publishers to monetize content and grow community.

10. DJV

Mattias Wernér

DJV Imaging provides open source movie playback software for use in film, VFX and computer animation. Key features include: real-time playback of image sequences and movies, support for industry standard file formats including Cineon, DPX, OpenEXR, and QuickTime, command line utilities for batch processing, cross-platform support for Linux, OS X, and Windows.
